Catherine Bagot
Dr. Catherine Bagot is a Consultant Haematologist at Glasgow Royal Infirmary (GRI), specialising in Haemostasis and Thrombosis, and is the co-director of the West of Scotland Haemophilia Comprehensive Care Centre. She is also an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the School of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Health, University of Glasgow.
She is President of the British Society for Haemostasis and Thrombosis (BSHT) and on the Executive Committee for the UK Thrombosis Research Network (UKTReN). She is also a member of the Thrombosis UK Professional Advisory Council, the UK ITP forum, and a medical advisor to the UK ITP Support Association.
Her clinical interests include inherited bleeding disorders, venous thrombosis treatment and prevention, obstetric haematology and immune thrombocytopaenia (ITP).
She is principal investigator for a number of international trials investigating new treatments for haemophilia, including gene therapy and other novel non-factor therapies, and new treatments for ITP.
